Betty TiggsBetty Tiggs – Computer Classes
I started computer training at WEOP in September 2007.  At WEOP the instructor and staff are very knowledgeable in providing basic and advanced training in Microsoft office software.  In addition to training, the staff also provided useful information on how to dress for success and update my resume in order to acquire the right job.  Thanks to WEOP I will enter the job market with advanced skills and knowledge to succeed in today’s job market.

Josie BaileyJosie Baily - Computer Classes - Business Owner “Stories by Josie”
Coming to these classes has taught me how to enhance my business skills for my company.  The skills that I have learned in this class will save me lots of money because I can now do some of the computer exercises that I have been paying others to do to promote my business.

Debra MitchellDebra Mitchell - “Following my business passion” - Small Business Loan workshop participant
I kept getting e-mails from WEOP to attend workshops and classes.  I finally attended “The Small Business Loan” workshop conducted by Ms. Griffin.  The information was invaluable to get me on the right track to identify possible funding sources for my business.  I not only benefited from the resource of information I connected with other interesting entrepreneurs!  I will pass the word on to others about WEOP.

Sonia Duncan - “My inspiration:   With Faith and determination I can realize good things in my life” - Participant, Volunteer and  WEOP Program Coordinator
When Sonia first connected with The Women’s Employment Opportunity Project, she enrolled in technology training courses to refresh her computer skills. She was referred to WEOP by the Fulton County Human Services, Office of Workforce Development. In the Microsoft Office training WEOP classes, she developed skills in Microsoft Office software and mastered her proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and she discovered a new path.

After beginning as a student, Sonia continued her participation as a volunteer. Her experience with WEOP successfully landed her a placement by the Office of Workforce Development. And, as luck would have it, Sonia was able to join the WEOP staff as Program Coordinator in August 2007 in the work experience program. Her experience as an alumni of WEOP programs and a dynamic volunteer has dedicated her to helping other women better themselves, just as she did. Sonia has been overwhelmed by the hospitality and sincerity of the program. And like the program’s founders and the women she considers being her inspiration, she too has blossomed into an empowered member of a “circle of women helping other women.”
